Purity analysis
Purity analysis is a quantitative measure of the impurities that can be found in a given sample. The importance of purity is undeniable, regardless of your profession. The presence of impurities can affect the chemical properties of your product which could potentially have negative consequences on your projected operations. The following techniques can be used to assess the purity of a substance.
- NMR
- CHN analysis (± 0.4% for each element)
- Distillation followed by GC
- Column chromatography followed by HPLC under 2 different conditions

Morphology analysis
Morphology analysis can be used to evaluate the shape of individual molecules. Morphic features are important in many applications. For example, in the pharmaceutical formulation, the behaviour of the excipients is strongly influenced by the shape of the particle.
